Solar in the News: Boston Medical Centerâs Clean Power Prescription
In solar energy news, Boston Medical Center launched a groundbreaking Clean Power Prescription program, using solar energy to assist patients struggling with high utility bills. With 519 solar panels on the hospitalâs rooftop, the program generates energy to help keep utilities running for both the hospital and 80 patients who receive monthly utility credits of about $50.Driven by Dr. Anna Goldmanâs commitment to sustainability and patient welfare, this initiative has brought real relief to patients who rely on power for critical medical needs. Funded largely by the Inflation Reduction Act, the program serves as a model for other hospitals seeking to support vulnerable patients through solar energy. Looking ahead weâre excited to head into November with even more events, new partnerships, and opportunities to make solar energy accessible, affordable, and impactful.
